One-Time Utility Payments

Updated on

One-Time Utility Payments in the Customer Payment Portal

Citizens can make one-time utility payments without creating a CPO account or without logging in to their CPO account. The one-time payment process is launched from the CPO login page by clicking the One-Time Payment button.

  • Selecting Utility Payments from the One-Time Payment page opens the Pay My Utility Bill page.
  • When making a one-time utility payment, citizens will be required to enter the Utility Account Number and Last Name or Business Name or House/Building Number as it appears on the Utility Billing account.
    • You can specify whether to require the Last Name or Business Number or to require the House/Building Number on the Payer page under My Agency> Settings.
  • If a citizen does not enter this information accurately, they will be presented with a verification error message.
  • After successfully entering the Utility Account Number and Name, the Payment page will open.
  • Citizens will be required to enter their credit card information, enter and confirm an email address, specify an amount to pay, and click the Submit Payment button.
  • After a successful payment is submitted, the Payment Confirmation page will open. From here, citizens can review the payment details or print the confirmation.

Citizens are limited to six transactions, including declined payments, per account per day. If a citizen exceeds that limit, they will see the following error message:

  • NOTE: The "tomorrow" referenced in the error message is calculated in UTC time, so the reset time for your citizens will not correspond to midnight local time.
