What is the new CivicPay Online Customer Payment Portal?

  • The new CivicPay Online Customer Payment Portal is a fresh new look for your citizen facing payments portal at merchanttransact.com. It features:
    • Mobile usability - More and more of your citizens are paying with mobile devices so we have significantly enhanced usability for the mobile experience to allow your citizens to pay across all devices.
    • More intuitive design - We’ve made CivicPay Online consistent across the agency look and feel and the citizen look and feel. Citizens will be able to pay quicker and easier and there will be less outreach to your customer support teams.
    • Streamlined auto pay enrollment - Reduced the process to enroll in auto pay to within one or two clicks to allow your citizens to enroll in auto pay more quickly.
    • Improved accessibility - We have incorporated ADA compliance into our design standards for the citizen facing payment portal.
    • Increased security - In addition to usability enhancements we have also enhanced the overall security of the solution through this modernization by employing a more modern ASP.NET framework that includes a number of built-in security capabilities.

 

How does this affect my customers? Do they need to do anything?

  • Your customers do not need to take any action:
    • They will be redirected to the new payment portal automatically.
    • Their existing login credentials will remain the same.
    • All of your customers’ stored payment profiles will carry over and not need to be updated (unless you are also going through the gateway transition).
    • All auto pay enrollment will carry over into the new system without any action needed on the part of your customers.
